Mitchell Gibson racked up two points to lead the Ottawa Senators to a 5-2 victory over the Kanata Lasers. Ottawa's offense rang up 50 shots on Kanata's net. Ottawa also had goals scored by Alexandre Way, Daniel Sarracco, Jody Sullivan, and Zachary Cross, who each put in one. In addition, Ottawa received assists from Luke McCaw, who had two and Cameron White, Evan Lindquist, Sean Rappleyea, Greg Meireles, Brett Van Stralen, Elie Boulerice, and Jim Pearson, who each chipped in one. The Lasers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Senators to score on any of their six power plays. Marcus Paulino made 14 saves for Ottawa on 16 shots. The Senators incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Alex Butler rejected 45 shots on goal for Kanata. The Lasers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
