Frechette's big game bests Kanata in 6-2 Cumberland win

Martin Frechette was all over the ice for the Cumberland Grads, as he tallied two goals and one assist in Cumberland's 6-2 win over the Kanata Lasers.

Frechette's tallies came at 2:55 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cumberland and 1:54 into the second to make the score 2-1 Cumberland.

Kanata was unable to stop the Grads from sending pucks towards the net, and Cumberland eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

Cumberland additionally got points from Marc-Olivier Bouchard, who also tallied one goal and two assists and Michael Larose, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Cumberland also had goals scored by Grant Hebert and Mathieu Dubois, who each put in one. In addition, Cumberland received assists from Zackhary Salloum, Branden Makara, Cody Kyle, and Benoit Villeneuve, who each chipped in one and Shawn Cameron and Jared Leslie, who contributed two each.

The Lasers were helped by Joey Laird, who had one goal. Laird scored 14:44 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Tyler Young picked up the assist. Kanata also got a goal from David Pearce as well. More assists for Kanata came via Guisten Annetta, Will Gauthier, and Mike McArthur, who each chipped in one.

Thierry Messervier rejected 18 shots on goal for the Grads. Cumberland incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Alex Butler made 26 saves for Kanata on 32 shots. The Lasers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
