Brockville survives Pembroke comeback, wins 4-2

The Pembroke Lumber Kings almost clawed their way back from a four-goal deficit, but the Brockville Braves managed to pull out a 4-2 win in the end.

Brockville led by four goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Braves' Liam Folkes scored at 1:59 in the third period to put Brockville up 5-1.

Christopher Mammas had two goals to lead the Braves to victory. Mammas' tallies came at 6:02 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and 11:29 into the second to make the score 4-1 Brockville.

Brockville forced Pembroke goalie Boyd Diclemente to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

Brockville also had goals scored by Tre Folkes and Chris Chaddock, who scored one goal each. In addition, Brockville received assists from Ryan Orgel, Jack Gill, and Andrew Jarvis, who contributed one each and Michael Murray and Neil Robinson, who each chipped in two.

The Lumber Kings' offense rang up 36 shots on the Braves' net.

Pembroke was helped by Derek Varrin, who finished with one goal and one assist. Varrin scored on the power play 2:15 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Pembroke. A slashing penalty on Thomas Dunleavy had put the Lumber Kings on the power play. Alex Gilmour picked up the assist. Pembroke additionally got points from Ben VanOoteghem, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for Pembroke came via Johnny Kyte, who had one.

Henry Johnson rejected 34 shots on goal for Brockville. The Braves incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Pembroke's Diclemente stopped 32 shots out of the 36 that he faced. The Lumber Kings incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
