Branden Makara lifted the Cumberland Grads to a 6-2 victory with a hat trick against the Hawkesbury Hawks.

Makara notched his first tally 12:48 into the first period. He then added goals at 19:06 into the first and at 4:24 into the third.

Cumberland stifled Hawkesbury's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Cumberland additionally got points from Mathieu Dubois, who also registered one goal and one assist and Cody Kyle, who also had one goal and one assist. DAndre John also scored for Cumberland. In addition, Cumberland received assists from Ted McCabe, who had one, Grant Hebert, who had three, and Marc-Olivier Bouchard and Joey Sollazzo, who contributed two each.

Thierry Messervier rejected 24 shots on goal for the Grads. Cumberland incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Hawks' starting goalie, Cole Skinner, made 12 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Andrew Tucci, who stopped seven shots. Hawkesbury incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
