Johnson leads Brockville to shutout victory over Carleton Place

Henry Johnson was superb between the pipes for the Brockville Braves, as he did not allow a goal in a 3-0 victory over the Carleton Place Canadians.

Brockville was paced by Thomas Fingler, who finished with one goal. Fingler scored 9:46 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Brockville. Ian Johnston assisted on the tally.

The Braves' defensive effort looked to be improved. Brockville allows 2.4 goals per game.

Others who scored for Brockville included Michael Murray and Liam Folkes, who scored one goal each. More assists for Brockville came via Vincenzo Renda, Neil Robinson, and Andrew Jarvis, who each chipped in one.

Carleton Place was held below its usual level of production. The Canadians put an average of 4.2 pucks into the net per game.

The Braves' Johnson stopped 28 shots out of the 28 that he faced. Brockville totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. The Braves ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Cameron Hughes was ejected from the game. Colton Point made 26 saves for Carleton Place on 28 shots. The Canadians totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. For Carleton Place, Braedyn Asselstine was ejected from the game.
