Cornwall rides Lascelle to victory over Pembroke, 2-1Pembroke Memorial Center Fri, Dec 11, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
Liam Lascelle stood on his head and made 30 saves to lead the Cornwall Colts to a 2-1 victory over the Pembroke Lumber Kings. Cornwall's penalty kill excelled, as the Colts gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays. Cornwall was paced by Lawson MacDougall, who grabbed one goal. MacDougall scored 15:26 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Cornwall. Dean Derouchie provided the assist. The Colts could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game. Nick Lalonde also scored for Cornwall. More assists for Cornwall came via Tanner Spink and Matthew Morin, who each chipped in one. Pembroke's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Cornwall power plays. Cornwall was unable to stop the Lumber Kings from sending pucks towards the net, and Pembroke eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. The Lumber Kings were led by Alex Gilmour, who scored the team's only goal. Gilmour scored on the power play 8:21 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Pembroke. Pembroke earned a power play opportunity when Justin McRae was put in the box for goalie interference. Jesse Blais picked up the assist. Gabe Mollot-Hill made 24 saves for the Lumber Kings on 26 shots. Pembroke incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
