The Kemptville 73s used a sparkling performance by Nicholas Hodgins to take down the Ottawa Senators, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Kemptville's 3-0 shutout victory. The 73s were led by Jake Gaudet, who tallied one goal and one assist. Gaudet scored 8:16 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kemptville. Owen Guy assisted on the tally. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 11:10 into the first period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. Kemptville's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Ottawa power plays. Kemptville also had goals scored by Jason Tackett and Dean Kiriacou, who scored one goal each. Ottawa did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Senators put an average of 3.4 pucks into the net per game. Nicholas Hodgins made 29 saves for the 73s on 29 shots. Kemptville totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-2 on the power play. The 73s ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Cameron Bisson was ejected from the game. Ian Andriano rejected 24 shots on goal for Ottawa. The Senators ended with nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major. For Ottawa, Marc-Andre Gauvreau was ejected from the game.
