Brett Horn tallied one point to lead the Pembroke Lumber Kings to a 5-2 victory over the Gloucester Rangers. In a losing effort, Gloucester was paced by Dan Martin, who had two goals. Martin scored the first of his two goals at 1:51 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Gloucester. Nicholas Ngwafusi picked up the assist. Martin's next tally made the score 2-0 Gloucester with 15:02 left in the second period. Salim Mahi-Beaudry provided the assist. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 13:58 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. Pembroke stifled the Rangers' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Lumber Kings forced Gloucester goalie Doug Johnston to work between the pipes, taking 49 shots. Pembroke outdid its season average for goals scored. The Lumber Kings average 2.9 goals per game. Pembroke also had goals scored by Brett Primeau, who had two and Mitchell Culver and Justin Felhaber, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Pembroke were Ben VanOoteghem, who had two, Chris Minns, who had three, and Wesley Ashley, Jesse Blais, and Nicolas Vlahos, who contributed one each. The Rangers' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Pembroke power plays. Pembroke was unable to stop Gloucester from sending pucks towards the net, and the Rangers eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. In addition, Gloucester received assists from Jahwara Rennalls and Paul Vella, who each chipped in one. The Lumber Kings' Boyd Diclemente stopped 31 shots out of the 33 that he faced. Pembroke ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. The Lumber Kings ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Stephen Cooney was ejected from the game. Johnston rejected 44 shots on goal for Gloucester. The Rangers totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 0-for-4 on the power play. For Gloucester, Alex Bilodeau was ejected from the game.
