Kemptville blows out Pembroke, 4-1Pembroke Memorial Center Sun, Nov 22, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Kemptville 73s had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-1 win over the Pembroke Lumber Kings. Kemptville was led by goalie Nicholas Hodgins, who finished with 32 saves while allowing one goal. Hodgins managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.97 prior to the game. The 73s were led by Owen Guy, who tallied one goal. Guy scored 4:00 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Kemptville. Jason Tackett picked up the assist. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 8:30 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. Kemptville's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Pembroke power plays. The 73s forced Pembroke goalie Gabe Mollot-Hill to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots. Kemptville also had goals scored by Tyson Kirkby, Cameron Russell, and Jake Gaudet, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Kemptville were Alex Row, Victor Tracy, and Liam Watson, who each chipped in one. The Lumber Kings stifled Kemptville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The 73s were unable to stop Pembroke from sending pucks towards the net, and the Lumber Kings eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. Pembroke also got a goal from Jesse Blais as well. In addition, Pembroke received assists from Alex Gilmour and Brett Horn, who contributed one each. Kemptville totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 0-for-4 on the power play. For the 73s, Watson was ejected from the game. Pembroke's Mollot-Hill stopped 31 shots out of the 35 that he faced. The Lumber Kings ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. Pembroke ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Chris Minns was ejected from the game.
