Ottawa rolls over Hawkesbury, 4-1

The Ottawa Senators were firing on all cylinders against the Hawkesbury Hawks, and when the final buzzer sounded Senators emerged with a 4-1 win.

Ottawa was led by Samuel Meisenheimer, who had one goal. Meisenheimer scored 16:32 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Ottawa. Jim Pearson provided the assist.

The Senators' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Hawkesbury power plays.

Others who scored for Ottawa included Jared Leslie, Mitchell Gibson, and Zacharie Car, who scored one goal each. In addition, Ottawa received assists from Alexandre Way, Isaac Anderson, Daniel Sarracco, Brett Van Stralen, Elie Boulerice, Jaren Burke, and Zachary Cross, who contributed one each.

Hawkesbury did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Hawks put an average of 3.8 pucks into the net per game.

Hawkesbury was led by Adriano Leone, who scored the team's only goal. Leone scored 7:58 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Ottawa. Brandon Barillaro assisted on the tally.

Ottawa's Marcus Paulino stopped 20 shots out of the 21 that he faced. The Senators incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Andrew Tucci recorded 17 saves for the Hawks. Hawkesbury incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
