Kemptville blows out Nepean, 6-1

The Kemptville 73s had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-1 win over the Nepean Raiders.

Kemptville was led by Tyson Kirkby, who registered one goal. Kirkby scored 4:48 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Kemptville. Adam Alavi picked up the assist.

Nepean was unable to stop the 73s from sending pucks towards the net, and Kemptville eventually piled up 39 shots on goal. The 73s surpassed their usual scoring output this season. This season, Kemptville averages 3.3 goals per contest.

Kemptville additionally got points from Owen Guy, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Jake Gaudet, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Kemptville included Quinn Wichers, Dean Kiriacou, and Victor Tracy, who each put in one. In addition, Kemptville received assists from Brandon Cole, who had two and Kaelan OFlynn, Jason Tackett, and Matt Tugnutt, who each chipped in one.

Nicholas Hodgins recorded 18 saves for the 73s. Kemptville incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Francis Marotte rejected 33 shots on goal for the Raiders. Nepean incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
