Hawkesbury falls to Brockville in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

Neil Robinson gave the Brockville Braves a 5-4 (OT) victory over the Hawkesbury Hawks when he scored 2:21 into the extra period.

Brockville nearly gave up a two-score lead. The Braves made it 4-2 on a goal by Liam Folkes at 9:56 in the third period. Hawkesbury pulled to within 4-3 on a goal by Charles Levesque at 12:53 in the third period.

Robinson had a great game for Brockville, netting two goals.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 12:51 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

The Braves avoided man-down situations well, racking up one major for five minutes in penalty time. Brockville finished below its season average of 16.0 penalty minutes per game. The Braves got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Brockville also got points from Vincenzo Renda, who also tallied one goal and two assists, Andrew Jarvis, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Folkes, who also finished with one goal and one assist. More assists for Brockville came via Thomas Dunleavy, Ryan Orgel, Jack Billings, Tre Folkes, and Ian Johnston, who contributed one each.

The Hawks forced Brockville goalie Henry Johnson to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

Hawkesbury additionally got points from Chris Smith, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Hawkesbury included Adriano Leone and Jonathan Cyr, who each put in one. In addition, Hawkesbury received assists from Joe Smith, who had two and Damien Charette, Reid Murphy, and Jonathan Tecce, who each chipped in one.

Johnson rejected 30 shots on goal for the Braves. Brockville registered one goal on four power play opportunities. For the Braves, Sam Jones was ejected from the game. Andrew Tucci made 22 saves for Hawkesbury on 27 shots. The Hawks totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and had no power play opportunities. Hawkesbury ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Simon Houle was ejected from the game.
