GAME RECAP

Brockville holds on for 3-1 win against Nepean

Nepean Sportsplex Rink 1    Wed, Nov 11, 2015

The Brockville Braves survived a determined comeback attempt by the Nepean Raiders on the way to a 3-1 win.

Brockville took a 3-0 lead during the first period, only to have Nepean storm back on a Evan Lindquist goal 2:25 into the third period to pull to two goals down.

The Braves were sparked by Kyle Orgel, who finished with one goal. Orgel scored 6:47 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Brockville. Alexander Sifton provided the assist.

Brockville also had goals scored by Ian Johnston and Jack Gill, who scored one goal each. More assists for Brockville came via Jack Billings, Michael Murray, Declan Hilton, Neil Robinson, and Andrew Jarvis, who contributed one each.

The Raiders were often in penalty trouble, totaling five minors and two majors for 20 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 16.0 minutes per game Nepean had been spending in the box. The Raiders stifled Brockville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

In addition, Nepean received assists from Blake Dalton and Derek Varrin, who each chipped in one.

Michael Cerasuolo made 23 saves for the Braves on 24 shots. Brockville totaled seven minutes in penalty time with one minor and one major and went 0-for-6 on the power play. For the Braves, Jarvis was ejected from the game. Nepean's Francis Marotte stopped 26 shots out of the 29 that he faced. The Raiders registered one goal on two power play opportunities. Team's Jody Sullivan and Ugo Roik were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
