The Hawkesbury Hawks used a four-goal second period to put away the Nepean Raiders, 9-3. Hawkesbury got the win with help from a great game by Reid Murphy, who had two goals and one assist. Murphy scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 5:45 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Hawkesbury. The Hawks had taken the advantage when Nepean's Francis Marotte got sent off for delay of game. Jonathan Tecce picked up the assist. Murphy's next tally on the power play made the score 3-1 Hawkesbury with 19:51 left in the second period. Damien Charette provided the assist. Hawkesbury forced the Raiders' goalies to work between the pipes, finishing with 35 shots and forcing 26 saves. Marotte made 23 stops and Jack Ondrovic made three. The Hawks' goal total was higher than their season average. Hawkesbury averages 3.6 goals per game. Hawkesbury also got points from Charles Levesque, who also registered one goal and one assist, Adriano Leone, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Bruno Cheff, who also registered two goals and one assist. Chris Smith also scored for Hawkesbury. More assists for Hawkesbury came via Ryan Bunka, who had two, Brandon Barillaro, who had four, and Brett Everson and Hunter Gunski, who contributed one each. Nepean was helped by Derek Varrin, who had one goal. Varrin scored 2:40 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Kari Belec assisted on the tally. Others who scored for Nepean included Luke McCaw and Rory Garlasco, who each put in one. In addition, Nepean received assists from Evan Lindquist, Hunter Garlasco, Josh Zizek, and Jody Sullivan, who each chipped in one. James Hack made 21 saves for the Hawks on 24 shots. Hawkesbury incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Raiders incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
