Carleton Place stifles Kemptville's comeback, gains 5-4 victoryCarleton Place Arena Sun, Nov 01, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Carleton Place Canadians came close to giving away a three-goal lead to the Kemptville 73s, but did just enough to escape with a 5-4 victory. Carleton Place led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Canadians' Marcus Joseph scored at 6:49 in the second period to put Carleton Place up 3-0. Jordan Larson was all over the ice for the Canadians, as he racked up two goals in the win. Larson found the back of the net 5:44 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Carleton Place and again while 15:35 into the third to make the score 5-4 Carleton Place. Carleton Place excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Canadians' offense rang up 35 shots on Kemptville's net. Carleton Place also got points from Brett Murray, who also registered one goal and one assist. Carleton Place also got a goal from Connor Merkley as well. In addition, Carleton Place received assists from Will LeNeave, Geoff Kitt, Kyle Dowdall, Nicolas Carrier, and Vinny Post, who contributed one each and Bryce VanHorn and Maxime StPierre, who each chipped in two. The 73s' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Carleton Place power plays. Kemptville was led by Alex Row, who had one goal and one assist. Row scored 6:14 into the third period to make the score 4-4. Jason Tackett provided the assist. Others who scored for Kemptville included Quinn Wichers, Matthew Titus, and Owen Guy, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Kemptville were Kaelan OFlynn, Adam Alavi, Matt Tugnutt, and Bobby Dow, who contributed one each. Adrian Clark made 15 saves for Carleton Place on 19 shots. The Canadians incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Nicholas Hodgins recorded 30 saves for the 73s. Kemptville incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
