Pembroke boosted by Mollot-Hill's play in net, beats Cornwall 5-1Ed Lumley Arena Thu, Oct 29, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
A stellar performance between the pipes by Gabe Mollot-Hill helped the Pembroke Lumber Kings defeat the Cornwall Colts, 5-1. Pembroke was led by Brett Horn, who had one goal. Horn scored 4:56 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Pembroke. Brock Rumbaugh picked up the assist. The Lumber Kings kept Cornwall's goalie busy throughout the game, and James Edwardson made 29 saves on 34 shots. Pembroke also got points from Will Lavezzorio, who also registered one goal and one assist, Ryan Casselman, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Rumbaugh, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Tyler ONeill also scored for Pembroke. Other players who recorded assists for Pembroke were Colton Keuhl, Jesse Blais, and Nicolas Vlahos, who contributed one each. The Colts stifled Pembroke's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Cornwall could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Colts average 3.1 goals per game. Cornwall was led by Tristan Elie, who scored the team's only goal. Elie scored on the power play 17:50 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cornwall. The Colts had gained a power play chance when Tristan Whynot was whistled for cross checking. Dean Derouchie provided the assist. Mollot-Hill recorded 29 saves for the Lumber Kings. Pembroke incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Cornwall incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
