Carleton Place downs Brockville in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

Bryce VanHorn gave the Carleton Place Canadians a 5-4 (OT) victory over the Brockville Braves when he scored 1:26 into the extra period.

VanHorn had a great game for Carleton Place, netting two goals.

The Canadians excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Carleton Place forced Brockville goalie Henry Johnson to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots.

Carleton Place additionally got points from Lucas Batt, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Carleton Place also had goals scored by Shawn Kennedy and Alex Friesen, who scored one goal each. In addition, Carleton Place received assists from Kyle Dowdall, Matt Lombardozzi, Brett Murray, and Maxime StPierre, who contributed one each and Owen Grant and Jordan Larson, who each chipped in two.

The Braves were led by Liam Folkes, who grabbed one goal and three assists. Folkes scored 1:12 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Brockville. Andrew Jarvis picked up the assist. Brockville also got points from Ian Johnston, who also had one goal and one assist and Neil Robinson, who also registered one goal and one assist. Tre Folkes also scored for Brockville.

Colton Point made 22 saves for the Canadians on 26 shots. Carleton Place incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Brockville's Johnson stopped 32 shots out of the 37 that he faced. The Braves incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
