The Ottawa Senators opened up a four-goal lead after the first period and did not look back en route to a 10-2 win over the Gloucester Rangers. Daniel Sarracco had one goal and two assists to lead Ottawa. Sarracco scored 6:49 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Ottawa. Zacharie Car provided the assist. Gloucester was unable to stop the Senators from sending pucks towards the net, and Ottawa eventually piled up 44 shots on goal. The Senators surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Ottawa averages 4.4 goals per game. Ottawa also got points from Sean Rappleyea, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Salim Mahi-Beaudry, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Brett Van Stralen, who also registered one goal and one assist, Car, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Jaren Burke, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Ottawa included William Cullen, Samuel Meisenheimer, Kyle Hillick, and Jim Pearson, who each put in one. Marcus Paulino made 21 saves for the Senators on 23 shots. Ottawa incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Doug Johnston rejected 34 shots on goal for the Rangers. Gloucester registered one goal on two power play opportunities.
