Carleton Place holds on for 3-1 win against Pembroke

The Pembroke Lumber Kings tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Carleton Place Canadians held on for a 3-1 victory.

Carleton Place made the score 3-0 on a goal by Lucas Batt at 8:39 in the third period, and Pembroke got as close as 3-1 when Fraser Turner scored 15:04 into the third period.

The Canadians were sparked by Nicolas Carrier, who tallied one goal. Carrier scored 1:52 into the third period to make the score 2-0 Carleton Place. Connor Merkley assisted on the tally.

Carleton Place put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Lumber Kings to score on any of their five power plays.

Carleton Place additionally got points from Batt, who also had one goal and one assist. Carleton Place also got a goal from Jordan Larson as well. In addition, Carleton Place received assists from Marcus Joseph, Bryce VanHorn, Maxime StPierre, and Alex Friesen, who each chipped in one.

More assists for Pembroke came via Stephen Cooney and Adam Beveridge, who contributed one each.

The Canadians' Adrian Clark stopped 22 shots out of the 23 that he faced. Carleton Place incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Sean Green rejected 20 shots on goal for Pembroke. The Lumber Kings incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
