Hawkesbury downs Pembroke, 5-2

The Hawkesbury Hawks beat the Pembroke Lumber Kings, 5-2.

Hawkesbury's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Pembroke power plays. Pembroke was unable to stop the Hawks from sending pucks towards the net, and Hawkesbury eventually piled up 39 shots on goal.

The Hawks were helped by Brett Everson, who registered one goal. Everson scored 4:20 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Hawkesbury. Joe Smith picked up the assist. Hawkesbury additionally got points from Liam Manning, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Hawkesbury also got a goal from Brandon Barillaro as well. Other players who recorded assists for Hawkesbury were Vincent Crivello, who had two and Jonathan Cyr, Ryan Jackson, Bruno Cheff, Hunter Gunski, and Chris Smith, who each chipped in one.

The Lumber Kings stifled Hawkesbury's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Pembroke was helped by Nicolas Vlahos, who racked up one goal. Vlahos scored 10:02 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Hawkesbury. Cameron Hughes assisted on the tally. Ryan Casselman also scored for Pembroke. More assists for Pembroke came via Chris Minns, Jesse Blais, and Ben VanOoteghem, who contributed one each.

James Hack rejected 16 shots on goal for the Hawks. Hawkesbury incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Sean Green recorded 34 saves for the Lumber Kings. Pembroke incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
