Cumberland downs Brockville, 5-2

Branden Makara finished with one point to lead the Cumberland Grads to a 5-2 victory over the Brockville Braves.

Cumberland also got points from Shawn Cameron, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Cumberland included Adam Dauda, Martin Frechette, and Simon Besner, who each put in one. In addition, Cumberland received assists from Matthieu Franche, who had two and Grant Hebert, Raphael Larose, Ted McCabe, and Joey Sollazzo, who each chipped in one.

Brockville excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Braves kept Cumberland's goalie busy throughout the game, and Ryan Coughlin made 30 saves on 32 shots. Brockville gave up more goals than its normal season average. The Braves average 2.4 goals allowed per game.

Brockville was helped by Neil Robinson, who grabbed one goal. Robinson scored 16:15 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Vincenzo Renda assisted on the tally. Brockville additionally got points from Renda, who also tallied one goal and one assist.

The Grads incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Henry Johnson rejected 22 shots on goal for the Braves. Brockville incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
