Cyr's big game bests Ottawa in 5-3 Hawkesbury win

Behind a great game by Jonathan Cyr, who had one goal and four assists, the Hawkesbury Hawks defeated the Ottawa Senators, 5-3.

Cyr scored 14:52 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Hawkesbury. Charles Levesque picked up the assist. Cyr dished an assist on Chris Smith's goal that made the score 1-0 Hawkesbury at 12:05 into the first period. He then added assists on Levesque's goal at 5:59 into the second, on Julien Denicourt's goal at 11:25 into the third, and on Levesque's goal at 17:55 into the third.

Hawkesbury additionally got points from Levesque, who also registered two goals and two assists and Smith, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Hawkesbury were Ryan Jackson and Reid Murphy, who contributed one each.

Hawkesbury's defense shut down Ottawa's forwards for much of the game, and the Senators got off only three shots during the contest. Ottawa's defense was uncharacteristically lax during the game. The Senators give up 2.5 goals per game.

Ottawa was helped by Elie Boulerice, who had one goal. Boulerice scored 4:52 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Daniel Sarracco assisted on the tally. Ottawa also had goals scored by Alexandre Way and Isaac Anderson, who each put in one. More assists for Ottawa came via Salim Mahi-Beaudry, Johnathan Kovacevic, Brady Cloutier, Zacharie Car, and Kyle Hillick, who each chipped in one.

The Hawks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Senators incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
