Smiths Falls holds on for 3-2 win against NepeanSmiths Falls Memorial Centre Fri, Sep 25, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Smiths Falls Bears survived a determined comeback attempt by the Nepean Raiders on the way to a 3-2 win. Smiths Falls made the score 3-1 on a goal by Sterling Bray at 7:17 in the third period, and Nepean got as close as 3-2 when Blake Dalton scored 15:33 into the third period. The Bears were paced by Bray, who registered one goal. Smiths Falls stifled the Raiders' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Bears kept Nepean's goalie busy throughout the game, and Francis Marotte made 32 saves on 35 shots. Smiths Falls also had goals scored by Broydon Stufko and Nicolas Coates, who scored one goal each. In addition, Smiths Falls received assists from Johnny Curran and Cole Busschaert, who each chipped in one. The Raiders excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Nepean was helped by Jody Sullivan, who finished with one goal. Sullivan scored 14:57 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Smiths Falls. Josh Zizek picked up the assist. More assists for Nepean came via Hunter Garlasco and Luke McCaw, who contributed one each. Smiths Falls' Evan DeBrouwer stopped 28 shots out of the 30 that he faced.
