Batt lifts Carleton Place over Nepean, 4-1

Behind a great game by Lucas Batt, who had two goals, the Carleton Place Canadians defeated the Nepean Raiders, 4-1.

Batt's tallies came at 3:36 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Carleton Place and on the power play 15:36 into the third to make the score 3-1 Carleton Place.

Carleton Place was led by goalie Adrian Clark, who finished with 30 saves while allowing one goal. Clark managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 3.71 prior to the game.

The Canadians stifled Nepean's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Raiders were unable to stop Carleton Place from sending pucks towards the net, and the Canadians eventually piled up 36 shots on goal.

Carleton Place also had goals scored by Connor Merkley and Bryce VanHorn, who scored one goal each. In addition, Carleton Place received assists from Jordan Larson, who had two and Owen Grant, Marcus Joseph, AJ Klein, Matt Lombardozzi, Nicolas Carrier, and Alex Friesen, who contributed one each.

Nepean forced Carleton Place goalie Clark to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

The Raiders were led by Hunter Garlasco, who scored the team's only goal. Garlasco scored 10:27 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Josh Zizek picked up the assist.

The Canadians incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Nepean's Francis Marotte stopped 32 shots out of the 35 that he faced. The Raiders incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
