Conti's big game bests Arsenal HC in 9-4 Panthers win

Anthony Conti had four goals and three assists to lead Panthers to a 9-4 victory over Arsenal HC.

Conti's first goal came 38 seconds into the first period. He then added goals at 18:16 into the first, at 9:49 into the second, and at 14:03 into the second.

The win gave Panthers a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

Panthers kept Arsenal HC's goalie busy throughout the game, and Ludwik Breczewski made 38 saves on 47 shots. Panthers did not rack up many penalties in the contest, racking up a minimal one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

Panthers additionally got points from Quinton Blois, who also finished with one goal and two assists and Quinten Issigonis, who also racked up two goals and two assists. Others who scored for Panthers included Corey Webster and Sterling Hansell, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Panthers were Ryan Killeen, Joel Issigonis, and Matt Lucero, who contributed one each and Jonny Donohoe and Grady Sheehan, who each chipped in two.

Arsenal HC did not rack up many penalties in the contest, totaling only one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The defensemen of Arsenal HC were also effective in Panthers' zone, and came away with two goals.

Arsenal HC was helped by Nick Acconci, who tallied two goals and one assist. Acconci scored the first of his two goals at 1:55 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Panthers. James Kusaka picked up the assist. Acconci's next tally made the score 3-3 with 3:40 left in the first period. Drew McKinnon assisted on the tally. Arsenal HC also got points from Peter Trinh, who also registered two goals and one assist. In addition, Arsenal HC received assists from Bradley Muzzin, who had one.

Donohoe rejected 17 shots on goal for Panthers. Panthers registered zero goals on one power play opportunities. Arsenal HC registered one goal on one power play opportunities.
