Smith's goals lift Little Britain to 3-1 victory over North Kawartha

Kenzie Smith was all over the ice for the Little Britain Merchants, as he tallied two goals in Little Britain's 3-1 win over the North Kawartha Knights.

Smith found the back of the net on the power play 16:27 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Little Britain and again while 19:49 into the third to make the score 3-1 Little Britain.

The Merchants were led by goalie Adam Harris, who finished with 35 saves while allowing one goal. Harris managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 3.76 prior to the game.

Little Britain pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 32 penalty minutes.

Keegan Cairns also scored for Little Britain. In addition, Little Britain received assists from Terry Snoddon, who had three and Derek Risebrough and Greg McLean, who each chipped in one.

North Kawartha's offense rang up 36 shots on the Merchants' net.

The Knights were led by Jesse Douglas, who scored the team's only goal. Douglas scored on the power play 18:40 into the second period to make the score 1-1. North Kawartha had taken the advantage when Little Britain's Mark Harris got sent off for high sticking. Cameron Medland provided the assist.

The Merchants registered one goal on two power play opportunities. Jake Ireland recorded 26 saves for the Knights. North Kawartha incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
