The Uxbridge Bruins beat the Port Perry Mojacks, 3-1, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout. Uxbridge took over the lead for good with a goal by Alex Siblock at 2:14 in the first period. A tripping penalty on Ryan Bernardes had put the Bruins on the power play. Brett Thomson picked up the assist.Uxbridge was led by goalie Branden Francey, who finished with 37 saves while allowing one goal. Francey managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 3.02 prior to the game. Port Perry's power play was ineffective against the Bruins' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. Uxbridge excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. The Bruins were led by Marco Mastrangelo, who registered one goal and one assist. Mastrangelo scored 13:44 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Uxbridge. Siblock provided the assist. Uxbridge also got points from Siblock, who also grabbed one goal and one assist.
