Little Britain uses big games from Snoddon and Smith to down Georgina, 8-5

Behind two goals and one assist from Terry Snoddon and two goals and one assist from Kenzie Smith, the Little Britain Merchants downed the Georgina Ice 8-5.

Snoddon scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 9:29 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Little Britain. Little Britain had gotten the advantage when Georgina's Tanner Tomlinson was sent off for cross checking. Aidan Renouf picked up the assist. Snoddon's next tally on the power play made the score 3-1 Little Britain with 6:47 left in the first period. Smith provided the assist. Smith scored the first of his two goals at 2:43 into the second period to make the score 4-1 Little Britain. Jordan Sharpe assisted on the tally. Smith's next tally made the score 6-2 Little Britain with 10:01 left in the second period. Snoddon picked up the assist.

The Merchants' offense rang up 39 shots on the Ice's net. Little Britain outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, the Merchants average 4.8 goals per contest. Little Britain had trouble converting on the power play advantage, managing just two goals on 10 chances. The Merchants were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 30 penalty minutes.

Little Britain also got points from Nathan Watson, who also racked up two goals and one assist, Renouf, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Smith, who also had two goals and one assist. Brant Foster also scored for Little Britain. More assists for Little Britain came via Derek Risebrough, who had one, Jesse Craig, who had two, and Reed Westington, who had three.

Georgina was often in penalty trouble, totaling 11 minors and one major for 47 minutes in penalty time. The Ice surpassed its season average of 27.0 penalty minutes per game. Georgina surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Ice average 1.7 goal per game.

Georgina was led by Matthew McIntyre, who registered three goals. Georgina also had goals scored by Brendan Mackenzie and Babcock Jamie APM, who each put in one. In addition, Georgina received assists from Kevin Sarrazin APM, Jonathon Kaye, Geoff Walker, and Tyler Stewart APM, who contributed one each and Bradley Boudreau and Dustin Brillinger, who each chipped in two.

Garrett Haden made 24 saves for Little Britain on 29 shots. The Ice's Grant Campbell stopped 31 shots out of the 38 that he faced. Georgina registered two goals on eight power play opportunities. Team's Sarrazin APM and Justin Bingham were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
