Port Perry survives Little Britain comeback, wins 4-3

The Little Britain Merchants tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Port Perry Mojacks would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-3.

Port Perry made the score 4-1 on a goal by Ethan Ramsden at 12:02 in the second period, and Little Britain got as close as 4-3 when Derek Risebrough scored 13:12 into the third period.

The Mojacks' penalty kill excelled, as Port Perry gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

The Merchants were unable to stop the Mojacks from sending pucks towards the net, and Port Perry eventually piled up 51 shots on goal.

The Mojacks were helped by Liam Schweda, who had one goal. Schweda scored 13:01 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Port Perry. Port Perry also got points from Ramsden, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Port Perry included Lucas Berkers and Jordan McCullough, who each put in one. In addition, Port Perry received assists from Dan Harris, Todd McNair, and Jesse Menzies, who contributed one each.

Little Britain forced Port Perry goalie Brett Chandler to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

The Merchants were helped by Mark Harris, who registered one goal. Harris scored 6:51 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Port Perry. Risebrough assisted on the tally. Little Britain additionally got points from Risebrough, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Little Britain also got a goal from Hayden Long as well. Other players who recorded assists for Little Britain were Jesse Craig, Terry Snoddon, and Owen Fawns, who each chipped in one.

The Mojacks' Chandler stopped 32 shots out of the 35 that he faced. Port Perry incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Garrett Haden made 47 saves for Little Britain on 51 shots. The Merchants ended with 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. For Little Britain, Kenzie Smith was ejected from the game.
