Clarington downs Little Britain in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

The Clarington Eagles pulled out a 5-4 (OT) overtime victory over the Little Britain Merchants on a clutch goal by Cody Kean.

Clarington came back from a three-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Eagles trailed 4-1 after a power play goal by Little Britain's Kenzie Smith at 16:04 in the second period. Clarington knotted things up at 4-4 on a goal by Kean at 19:36 in the third period.

Kean had a great game for the Eagles, netting two goals.

Clarington forced the Merchants goalie Adam Harris to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. The Eagles struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as they finished the game with 26 penalty minutes for five opposing power plays.

Clarington also had goals scored by Dylan Howorko, Kevin Smith, and Darby Medd, who each put in one. In addition, Clarington received assists from Collin Weston, who had two and Mackenzie Morissette, Ben Pitchforth, Dan Michel, and Patrick McAuliffe, who contributed one each.

Little Britain could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 58 minutes in penalties during the game.

Little Britain additionally got points from Terry Snoddon, who also grabbed one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Little Britain also got a goal from Mitchell Brown as well. More assists for Little Britain came via Keegan Cairns, who had one and Jesse Craig, who had two.

Zack Wainman recorded 23 saves for Clarington. The Eagles registered one goal on seven power play opportunities. The Merchants' Harris stopped 32 shots out of the 37 that he faced. For Little Britain, Derek Risebrough was ejected from the game.
