Port Perry rolls over North Kawartha, 5-0

The Port Perry Mojacks were firing on all cylinders against the North Kawartha Knights, and when the final buzzer sounded Mojacks emerged with a 5-0 win.

Port Perry was paced by Mitchell Gustavsen, who grabbed one goal. Gustavsen scored 17:03 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Port Perry. Jesse Menzies provided the assist.

The Mojacks' defensive play was more effective than usual against North Kawartha. Port Perry averages 2.5 goals allowed per game. The Knights were unable to stop the Mojacks from sending pucks towards the net, and Port Perry eventually piled up 36 shots on goal.

Port Perry additionally got points from Lucas Berkers, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Konrad Piorkowski, who also had one goal and one assist, and Jeff St. Pierre, who also registered one goal and one assist. Graham Lamers also scored for Port Perry. More assists for Port Perry came via Jordan McCullough, Kyle Schweda, and Liam Schweda, who contributed one each.

North Kawartha's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Port Perry power plays. The Knights did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. North Kawartha puts an average of 3.2 pucks into the net per game. The Mojacks' defense shut down the Knights' forwards for much of the game, and North Kawartha got off only 14 shots during the contest.

Brett Chandler recorded 14 saves for Port Perry. The Mojacks incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Knights' Spencer Green stopped 31 shots out of the 36 that he faced. North Kawartha incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
