Francey leads Uxbridge to shutout victory over GeorginaSutton Arena Sun, Nov 22, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
Branden Francey made 25 saves to complete the shutout and led the Uxbridge Bruins to a 5-0 win against the Georgina Ice. Uxbridge was led by Shane Smith, who finished with one goal. Smith scored on the power play 5:43 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Uxbridge. The Bruins had gained a power play chance when Bronson Smith was whistled for tripping. Adam Bartholomew assisted on the tally. Uxbridge stifled Georgina's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Bruins was steadier on the defensive front than they have been for much of this season. Uxbridge averages 2.9 goals allowed per game. The Bruins forced the Ice goalie Grant Campbell to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots. Uxbridge also got points from Coby Gardner, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Aiden Reilly, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Uxbridge also had goals scored by Alex Siblock and Marco Mastrangelo, who each put in one. In addition, Uxbridge received assists from Jordan Nesbitt, who had one and Daryl Thomson, who had two. Uxbridge incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Campbell rejected 34 shots on goal for Georgina. The Ice incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
