Port Perry rolls over Georgina, 5-1Scugog Memorial Arena Sat, Nov 21, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Port Perry Mojacks had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-1 win over the Georgina Ice. Georgina was stymied by Port Perry's netminder Blake Shaw, who stopped 25 shots during the victory. Shaw certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.58 entering the contest. The Mojacks were sparked by Lucas Clark, who finished with one goal and one assist. Clark scored 16:15 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Port Perry. Lucas Berkers provided the assist. Port Perry stifled the Ice's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Mojacks' offense rang up 44 shots on Georgina's net. Port Perry additionally got points from Mitchell Gustavsen, who also had two goals and one assist to lead the team in points and Kyle Schweda, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Jeff St. Pierre also scored for Port Perry. In addition, Port Perry received assists from Todd McNair, who had two and Ben Kerry, Jordan McCullough, and Liam Schweda, who contributed one each. The Ice's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Port Perry power plays. Georgina could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 34 minutes in penalties during the game. The Ice were led by Matthew McIntyre, who scored the team's only goal. McIntyre scored short handed 4:56 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Port Perry. Georgina played down a man on Adrian Addante's roughing. Port Perry incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Ice's Brett Chandler stopped 39 shots out of the 44 that he faced. Georgina registered zero goals on four power play opportunities.
