Myers nets hat trick, leads Clarington to 8-3 win over Georgina

Brodie Myers netted a hat trick to lead the Clarington Eagles over the Georgina Ice, 8-3.

Myers' first goal came 4:14 into the first period. He then added goals at 7:51 into the first and at 16:55 into the second.

Clarington kept Georgina's goalie busy throughout the game, and Brett Chandler made 58 saves on 66 shots. The Eagles found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Clarington averages 5.6 goals per game.

Clarington also got points from Brent Hambly, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Cody Kean, who also had two goals and one assist. Others who scored for Clarington included Dan Michel and Jordan Neuman, who each put in one. In addition, Clarington received assists from Mitchell Marchbank, Ben Pitchforth, and Collin Weston, who contributed one each and Mackenzie Morissette and Liam Rowe, who each chipped in two.

The Ice excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances.

Georgina was led by Matthew McIntyre, who finished with one goal and one assist. McIntyre scored 3:04 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Clarington. Tanner Tomlinson assisted on the tally. Georgina also had goals scored by Bradley Boudreau and Cameron Cattell, who scored one goal each. More assists for Georgina came via Cole Turner and Geoff Walker, who contributed one each.

Mark Robb rejected 13 shots on goal for the Eagles. Clarington incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Ice incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
