Clarington downs North Kawartha in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Mackenzie Morissette gave the Clarington Eagles a 4-3 (OT) victory over the North Kawartha Knights when he scored 21 seconds into the extra period.

North Kawartha was unable to stop Clarington from sending pucks towards the net, and the Eagles eventually piled up 42 shots on goal.

Clarington was led by Justin Holiad, who finished with two goals. Holiad scored the first of his two goals at 7:41 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Clarington. Cody Kean picked up the assist. Holiad's next tally made the score 3-2 Clarington with 5:37 left in the second period. Brodie Myers assisted on the tally. Clarington additionally got points from Myers, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Clarington came via Brent Hambly, Patrick McAuliffe, and Zack Wainman, who contributed one each.

The Knights excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

North Kawartha was led by Cameron Medland, who registered two goals. Medland scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 4:22 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Clarington. The Knights had taken the advantage when the Eagles' Morissette got sent off for tripping. Jesse Douglas picked up the assist. Medland's next tally on the power play made the score 2-2 with 15:05 left in the second period. Russell Fontyn provided the assist. North Kawartha also got a goal from Shane Patterson as well. In addition, North Kawartha received assists from Ethan Coens, Justin Thain, and Christian Lachapelle, who each chipped in one.

Wainman recorded 25 saves for Clarington. The Eagles incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Jake Ireland made 38 saves for North Kawartha on 42 shots. The Knights incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
