Little Britain blows out Georgina, 5-1

The Georgina Ice had trouble finding ways to stop the Little Britain Merchants, which beat Ice, 5-1.

Georgina was stymied by Little Britain's netminder Garrett Haden, who stopped 25 shots during the victory. Haden managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.51 prior to the game.

The Merchants' penalty kill excelled, as Little Britain gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

The Ice were unable to stop the Merchants from sending pucks towards the net, and Little Britain eventually piled up 38 shots on goal. The Merchants could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 36 minutes in penalties during the game.

Little Britain was helped by Phil Koufis, who had one goal. Koufis scored 17:37 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Little Britain. Hayden Long picked up the assist. Little Britain additionally got points from Long, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Michael Cox, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Little Britain also had goals scored by Aidan Renouf and Kenzie Smith, who scored one goal each. In addition, Little Britain received assists from Terry Snoddon, Derek Risebrough, Jesse Beers, Keegan Cairns, and Mark Harris, who contributed one each.

Georgina was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 38 penalty minutes.

The Ice were led by Matthew McIntyre, who scored the team's only goal. McIntyre scored on the power play 14:33 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Little Britain. Georgina had gotten the advantage when the Merchants' Brant Foster was sent off for cross checking. Austin Oosterhuis assisted on the tally.

Little Britain registered one goal on seven power play opportunities. Brett Chandler recorded 33 saves for the Ice. For Georgina, Rory McCarthy was ejected from the game.
