Clarington wins tough contest against Little Britain, 4-3

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Clarington Eagles escaped with a 4-3 victory over the Little Britain Merchants.

Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Austin Collins's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

Clarington was led by Collins, who registered one goal. Collins scored 4:26 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Clarington. Darby Medd provided the assist.

The Eagles forced Little Britain goalie Adam Harris to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

Clarington also got points from Mackenzie Morissette, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Clarington included Brent Hambly and Jacob Danforth, who each put in one. More assists for Clarington came via Kevin Smith, William Lamoureux, and Brodie Myers, who each chipped in one.

The Merchants were led by Keegan Cairns, who racked up one goal and one assist. Cairns scored 16:01 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Little Britain. Terry Snoddon assisted on the tally. Little Britain additionally got points from Snoddon, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Derek Risebrough also scored for Little Britain. In addition, Little Britain received assists from Blake Abbott, who had one.

Mark Robb rejected 20 shots on goal for Clarington. The Eagles incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Harris recorded 32 saves for Little Britain. The Merchants incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
