Medland's goals lift North Kawartha to 3-1 victory over Port Perry

Behind a great game by Cameron Medland, who had two goals, the North Kawartha Knights defeated the Port Perry Mojacks, 3-1.

Medland scored on the power play at 19:20 into the second period to make the score 1-1 and again while 19:46 into the third to make the score 3-1 North Kawartha.

North Kawartha was led by goalie Jake Ireland, who finished with 46 saves while allowing one goal. Ireland certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 5.75 entering the contest.

The Knights stifled Port Perry's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Braden MacDonald also scored for North Kawartha. More assists for North Kawartha came via Joe Dodds, Zack Pearson, Jackson Wiltshire APM, and Russell Fontyn, who each chipped in one.

The Mojacks did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Port Perry puts an average of 4.3 pucks into the net per game. The Mojacks' offense rang up 47 shots on North Kawartha's net.

Port Perry was led by Konrad Piorkowski, who scored the team's only goal. Piorkowski scored 8:50 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Port Perry. Kyle Schweda picked up the assist.

The Knights incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Cooper Howieson made 18 saves for the Mojacks on 20 shots. Port Perry incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors.
