Port Perry holds on for 5-3 win against Little Britain

The Port Perry Mojacks survived a determined comeback attempt by the Little Britain Merchants on the way to a 5-3 win.

A goal by Andrew Pickering put Port Perry up 5-2 in the third period, but Little Britain pulled to within two on Kenzie Smith's tally 18:27 into the third period.

The Mojacks were led by Konrad Piorkowski, who finished with one goal. Piorkowski scored short handed 2:36 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Port Perry. Port Perry was on a disadvantage when Ryan Bernardes went off the ice for tripping. Pickering assisted on the tally.

The Merchants were unable to stop the Mojacks from sending pucks towards the net, and Port Perry eventually piled up 34 shots on goal.

Port Perry additionally got points from Pickering, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, Graham Lamers, who also had one goal and one assist, and Lucas Clark, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Mitchell Gustavsen also scored for Port Perry. More assists for Port Perry came via Quinn Bryant-McKay and Kyle Schweda, who each chipped in one.

Little Britain's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Port Perry power plays. The Merchants could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 34 minutes in penalties during the game.

Little Britain also had goals scored by Terry Snoddon and Hayden Long, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Little Britain were Blake Abbott, who had one and Jesse Craig, who had two.

Blake Shaw made 26 saves for the Mojacks on 29 shots. Port Perry incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Adam Harris rejected 29 shots on goal for Little Britain. The Merchants registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
