The Clarington Eagles jumped out to a five-point advantage by the end of the first period and beat the North Kawartha Knights, 12-1. Cody Kean was all over the ice for Clarington, as he tallied one goal and three assists in the win. Kean scored 8:29 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Clarington. Liam Rowe provided the assist. The Eagles forced North Kawartha's netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, firing 54 shots and forcing 42 saves. Anthony Bertucca APM made 29 stops and Jake Ireland made 13. Clarington put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Knights to score on any of their three power plays. The Eagles outdid their season average for goals scored. Clarington has scored at the pace of 6.7 goals per game during the current campaign. Clarington also got points from Justin Holiad, who also had one goal and one assist, Kevin Smith, who also grabbed two goals and one assist, Collin Weston, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Brodie Myers, who also registered three goals and two assists to lead the team in points. Clarington also got a goal from Braden Gray as well. Other players who recorded assists for Clarington were William Lamoureux, who had three and Ian Elkins, Mackenzie Morissette, Chris Elms, and Dylan Howorko, who each chipped in one. North Kawartha struggled on the penalty kill, allowing the Eagles to score two power play goals on three chances. Clarington's Mark Robb stopped 24 shots out of the 25 that he faced. The Eagles ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. For Clarington, Holiad was ejected from the game. The Knights ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. North Kawartha ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Mitch Stewart was ejected from the game.
