Little Britain rides Haden to victory over Uxbridge, 4-1

A stellar performance between the pipes by Garrett Haden helped the Little Britain Merchants defeat the Uxbridge Bruins, 4-1.

Uxbridge was stymied by Little Britain's netminder Haden, who stopped 36 shots during the victory. Haden managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.01 prior to the game.

The Bruins' power play was ineffective against the Merchants' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 15:36 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Little Britain stifled Uxbridge's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Merchants kept the Bruins' goalie busy throughout the game, and Brandon Francey made 28 saves on 32 shots.

Little Britain was helped by Aidan Renouf, who racked up two goals. Renouf scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 10:44 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Little Britain. The Merchants had taken the advantage when Uxbridge's Aiden Reilly got sent off for roughing. Kenzie Smith picked up the assist. Renouf's next tally on the power play made the score 3-0 Little Britain with 15:43 left in the second period. Jesse Craig assisted on the tally. Little Britain also got points from Craig, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Smith, who also had one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Little Britain were Terry Snoddon, who had one.

The Bruins could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Uxbridge puts an average of 3.7 pucks into the net per game. Little Britain was unable to stop the Bruins from sending pucks towards the net, and Uxbridge eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

The Merchants totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 2-for-6 on the power play. Team's Brant Foster and Hayden Long were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. The Bruins ended with 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major. For Uxbridge, Shane Smith was ejected from the game.
