Clarington rolls over Lakefield, 5-2Lakefield-Smith CC Tue, Sep 29, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Clarington Eagles were firing on all cylinders against the Lakefield Chiefs, and when the final buzzer sounded Eagles emerged with a 5-2 win. Liam Rowe had a great game for Clarington, netting two goals. Rowe scored at 5:33 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Clarington and again while 4:23 into the third to make the score 5-1 Clarington. Clarington also got points from Braden Gray, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Clarington included Darby Medd and Brodie Myers, who scored one goal each. In addition, Clarington received assists from Cody Kean, who had three and Kevin Smith and Collin Weston, who contributed one each. Lakefield excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Chiefs were led by Mike Connelly, who had one goal. Connelly scored 1:55 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Dalton Hill assisted on the tally. Lakefield also got a goal from Colton Armstrong as well. More assists for Lakefield came via Connor Ellis, who had one. The Eagles' Brett Chandler stopped 26 shots out of the 28 that he faced. Clarington incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Michael Christie rejected 24 shots on goal for Lakefield. The Chiefs totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. For Lakefield, Hill was ejected from the game.
