The North Kawartha Knights beat the Little Britain Merchants, 2-0, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout.

A goal 19:26 into the first period by Cameron Medland proved to be the game winner, and powered North Kawartha to the victory. Russell Fontyn assisted on the tally.

The Knights were boosted by Spencer Green, who turned in a shutout with 41 saves. Green managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 3.3 prior to the game.

North Kawartha was paced by Medland, who racked up one goal.

Little Britain was unable to stop the Knights from sending pucks towards the net, and North Kawartha eventually piled up 39 shots on goal.

North Kawartha also got a goal from Shane Patterson as well. More assists for North Kawartha came via Ethan Coens, who had one.

The Merchants stifled the Knights' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Little Britain forced North Kawartha goalie Green to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots.

The Knights incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Garrett Haden recorded 37 saves for the Merchants. Little Britain incurred 38 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
