Uxbridge survives Georgina comeback, wins 4-2Georgina Ice Palace Sun, Sep 27, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Georgina Ice tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Uxbridge Bruins held on for a 4-2 victory. Uxbridge made the score 4-1 on a goal by Marco Mastrangelo at 13:44 in the second period, and Georgina got as close as 4-2 when Bronson Smith scored 5:04 into the third period. The Bruins' penalty kill excelled, as Uxbridge gave up one goal despite allowing nine power plays. The Bruins' offense rang up 32 shots on the Ice's net. Uxbridge's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Bruins finished with 32 penalty minutes. Uxbridge was helped by Jordan Nesbitt, who registered one goal. Nesbitt scored on the power play 10:55 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Uxbridge. The Bruins earned a power play opportunity when Brett Thomson was put in the box for roughing. Brady Baker picked up the assist. Uxbridge additionally got points from Daryl Thomson, who also had one goal and one assist and Mastrangelo, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Patrick Bolahood also scored for Uxbridge. Other players who recorded assists for Uxbridge were Alex Siblock, who had one. Georgina also got a goal from Dustin Brillinger as well. More assists for Georgina came via Jake Martin and Bradley Boudreau, who contributed two each. Uxbridge's Jake Joosten stopped 19 shots out of the 21 that he faced. The Bruins registered two goals on six power play opportunities. Emilio Gallenero recorded 28 saves for Georgina. The Ice incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
