The Lakefield Chiefs tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Uxbridge Bruins held on for a 4-3 victory.

Uxbridge made the score 4-2 on a goal by Marco Mastrangelo at 13:52 in the second period, and Lakefield got as close as 4-3 when Nick Hildebrand scored 19:40 into the third period.

Mastrangelo had two goals and one assist to lead the Bruins. Mastrangelo scored the first of his two goals at 5:42 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Uxbridge. Alex Siblock provided the assist. Mastrangelo's next tally made the score 4-2 Uxbridge with 6:08 left in the second period. Uxbridge had taken the advantage when the Chiefs' Aaron Vatcher got sent off for cross checking. Jordan Nesbitt picked up the assist.

The Bruins racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 12 minors and one major for 69 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 51.0 minutes per game Uxbridge had been spending in the box. The Bruins forced Lakefield goalie Michael Christie to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots.

Uxbridge also got points from Daryl Thomson, who also had one goal and two assists. Uxbridge also got a goal from Ryan Miehm as well. In addition, Uxbridge received assists from Thomas Swift and Patrick Bolahood, who contributed one each.

The Chiefs forced their penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up 13 minors and one major for 71 minutes in penalty time. Lakefield had been averaging 32.0 minutes in penalties per game. Uxbridge was unable to stop the Chiefs from sending pucks towards the net, and Lakefield eventually piled up 44 shots on goal.

Lakefield additionally got points from Eric Oosting, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Jordan MacLean also scored for Lakefield. Other players who recorded assists for Lakefield were Kyle Nelson APM, who had one and Jack Vautour, who had two.

The Bruins' Brandon Francey stopped 41 shots out of the 44 that he faced. Uxbridge registered one goal on eight power play opportunities. The Bruins ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Adam Bartholomew was ejected from the game. Christie rejected 37 shots on goal for the Chiefs. Lakefield registered three goals on eight power play opportunities. For the Chiefs, Dalton Hill was ejected from the game.
