The Lakefield Chiefs tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Uxbridge Bruins held on for a 4-3 victory. Uxbridge made the score 4-2 on a goal by Marco Mastrangelo at 13:52 in the second period, and Lakefield got as close as 4-3 when Nick Hildebrand scored 19:40 into the third period. Mastrangelo had two goals and one assist to lead the Bruins. Mastrangelo scored the first of his two goals at 5:42 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Uxbridge. Alex Siblock provided the assist. Mastrangelo's next tally made the score 4-2 Uxbridge with 6:08 left in the second period. Uxbridge had taken the advantage when the Chiefs' Aaron Vatcher got sent off for cross checking. Jordan Nesbitt picked up the assist. The Bruins racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 12 minors and one major for 69 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 51.0 minutes per game Uxbridge had been spending in the box. The Bruins forced Lakefield goalie Michael Christie to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. The Chiefs forced their penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up 13 minors and one major for 71 minutes in penalty time.
