Uxbridge falls to Clarington in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Clarington Eagles pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Uxbridge Bruins on a clutch goal by Brodie Myers.

Clarington got the win behind a great game by Myers, who had two goals and two assists. Myers scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 14:14 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Clarington. A tripping penalty on Adam Bartholomew had put the Eagles on the power play. Mitchell Marchbank picked up the assist. Myers' next tally on the power play made the score 4-3 Clarington with 16:42 left in overtime.

Clarington's penalty kill excelled, as the Eagles gave up zero goals despite allowing nine power plays.

Clarington stifled Uxbridge's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Eagles forced the Bruins goalie Brandon Francey to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots. Clarington was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 40 penalty minutes.

Others who scored for Clarington included Cody Kean and Collin Weston, who each put in one. In addition, Clarington received assists from Brent Hambly, who had one.

The Eagles were unable to stop Uxbridge from sending pucks towards the net, and the Bruins eventually piled up 34 shots on goal.

Uxbridge was helped by Nicholas Sribny, who registered one goal. Sribny scored 17:37 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Brady Baker assisted on the tally. Uxbridge also had goals scored by Daryl Thomson and Patrick Bolahood, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Uxbridge were Aiden Reilly, who had one.

Mark Robb recorded 31 saves for Clarington. The Eagles registered three goals on seven power play opportunities. The Bruins' Francey stopped 31 shots out of the 35 that he faced. Uxbridge incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
