Port Perry downs Lakefield, 7-3

Todd McNair had two points to lead the Port Perry Mojacks to a 7-3 victory over the Lakefield Chiefs.

Port Perry forced Lakefield goalie Michael Christie to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots. The Mojacks had trouble converting on the power play advantage, managing just two goals on 10 chances.

Port Perry additionally got points from Graham Lamers, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Port Perry included Ben Kerry, Jordan McCullough, Ethan Ramsden, Ben Sheremeta, and Jeff St. Pierre, who each put in one. More assists for Port Perry came via Mitchell Gustavsen, who had two and Kyle Schweda and Konrad Piorkowski, who contributed one each.

The Chiefs were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 34 penalty minutes.

Lakefield was helped by Nick Hildebrand, who tallied one goal. Hildebrand scored 1:24 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lakefield. Mike Connelly assisted on the tally. Lakefield also had goals scored by Jayd Killingbeck and Connor Ellis, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Lakefield were Jeff Hawthorne and Jack Vautour, who each chipped in one.

Cooper Howieson recorded 18 saves for Port Perry. The Mojacks incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Michael Christie made 35 saves for the Chiefs on 42 shots. Lakefield registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
