Cameron Medland lifted the North Kawartha Knights to a 9-3 victory with a hat trick against the Georgina Ice. Medland notched his first tally 5:02 into the first period. He then added goals at 9:35 into the third and at 13:41 into the third.Georgina's power play was ineffective against North Kawartha's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. The Knights forced Ice's goaltenders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, taking 39 shots and forcing 30 saves. Emilio Gallenero made 16 stops and Grant Campbell made 14. North Kawartha struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 48 penalty minutes for six opposing power plays. North Kawartha additionally got points from Shane Patterson, who also registered two goals and one assist, Russell Fontyn, who also had one goal and one assist, Justin Thain, who also racked up one goal and two assists, and Jesse Douglas, who also tallied one goal and two assists. Zack Pearson also scored for North Kawartha. Other players who recorded assists for North Kawartha were Shawnessy Borden, who had one and Christian Lachapelle, who had two. The Ice were often in penalty trouble, totaling 11 minors and three majors for 47 minutes in penalty time. Georgina surpassed its season average of 33.0 penalty minutes per game. The Ice were helped by Mark Gavrilov, who registered one goal. Gavrilov scored on the power play 16:55 into the second period to make the score 4-2 North Kawartha. Georgina had taken the advantage when the Knights' Fontyn got sent off for goalie interference. Dustin Brillinger picked up the assist.
