Uxbridge falls to Clarington in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

The Clarington Eagles pulled out a 5-4 (OT) overtime victory over the Uxbridge Bruins on a clutch goal by Cody Kean.

Clarington was led by Kean, who had one goal and one assist. Kean scored 1:43 into overtime to make the score 5-4 Clarington. Dylan Howorko picked up the assist.

The Eagles' offense rang up 39 shots on Uxbridge's net.

Clarington also had goals scored by Mackenzie Morissette, Justin Holiad, Kevin Smith, and Braden Gray, who each put in one. More assists for Clarington came via Brodie Myers, who had two and Ian Elkins, Brent Hambly, Darby Medd, and William Lamoureux, who each chipped in one.

Clarington was unable to stop the Bruins from sending pucks towards the net, and Uxbridge eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. The Bruins were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 30 penalty minutes.

Uxbridge was helped by Thomas Sheedy, who grabbed one goal. Sheedy scored 16:09 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Uxbridge. Shane Smith provided the assist. Others who scored for Uxbridge included Daryl Thomson, Ryan Miehm, and Liam Timewell, who scored one goal each. In addition, Uxbridge received assists from Nicholas Sribny, who had two and Jordan Nesbitt, Thomas Swift, Aiden Reilly, and Patrick Bolahood, who contributed one each.

Mark Robb rejected 29 shots on goal for the Eagles. Clarington totaled 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 3-for-9 on the power play. Brandon Francey recorded 34 saves for the Bruins. Uxbridge registered two goals on six power play opportunities.
