Toronto Patriots uses early goal to top Mississauga, 3-1

The Toronto Patriots Patriots beat the Mississauga Chargers, 3-1, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout.

Christian Bortoluzzi provided Toronto Patriots with the game-winning tally when he scored 13:10 into the first period. Cole Purboo assisted on the tally.

The Patriots were led by goalie Sean OReilly, who finished with 30 saves while allowing one goal. OReilly managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 3.71 prior to the game.

Toronto Patriots was led by Noah Robinson, who finished with one goal. Robinson scored 5:24 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Toronto Patriots. Nick Stuckless picked up the assist.

The Patriots excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Toronto Patriots forced Mississauga goalie Tyler Richardson to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

Toronto Patriots also got a goal from Eric Eremita as well. More assists for Toronto Patriots came via Louis DiMatteo and Jason DiPerna, who each chipped in one.

The Chargers stifled the Patriots' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Mississauga's offense rang up 31 shots on Toronto Patriots' net.

The Chargers were led by Michael Dischiavi, who scored the team's only goal. Dischiavi scored 15:04 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Toronto Patriots. Kyler Matthews assisted on the tally.

The Patriots totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 0-for-3 on the power play. Mississauga's Richardson stopped 37 shots out of the 40 that he faced. The Chargers ended with 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major.
